A Word on My Spring Break Experience

Returned from Kuumba's spring break tour in Washington, DC a week ago - spent the week singing and touring monuments, museums, and black churches. On Sunday, we sang at Covenant Baptist Church where one of our founders, Dennis Wiley, preaches. It was an amazing opportunity to connect with and learn about Kuumba's history, and I can't even describe the feeling I got when Reverend Wiley announced that he would be praying for us - and the whole church rose to its feet, clapping in affirmation. Friday was our main concert and what I can only describe as communion with the Spirit. God is so real. This tour was the spiritual and human connection I've been searching for.
